Or should it be, Supreme Commander, Failed Attempt
Published on November 9, 2007 By Dan Greene In Personal Computing
Ah yes again GPG.net, one of the lamest implementers of a great RTS game to debut yet another product with a failure for launch.

Lets review the bugs/ misses with features with the previous launch.

A. Poor system performance on great top of the line sysems
B. Crashes in long term games
C. Instability in any games due to optimization lackings
D. Lack of features standard in RTS games, i.e. the pointer and sound the alarm rocket, from AOE and Starcraft back in 1997-98.
E. Complete lack of scalability for single core systems in games where more than 500 units are present, when a single player rig joins, it wrecks the rest of the game for everybody else.
F. Inability for players to communicate outside the current game.
G. Shared resources not on by default

Now GPG.net is looking for another $40 for FA, and the top things to hit the message boards on the FA forums are these.

A. Multi threading implementation issues (may or maynot be bogus)
B. Some AI now CHEATS. LOL 2X build speed, 2X resources and the ability to see everything. Great.
C. DVD requirement for the game which is so lame why do companies even require this anymore?
D. Copy protection, good god, that lasted for a whole 36 hours before it was cracked.
E. Essential end of support for the original product right?

After spending $50 on SC when I first got it and having it never meet my expectations on my single core rig and now being able to play it on Vista, finally, I still don't feel the need to go get FA because of the way GPG has treated their community and left a lot of unfinished business with Supreme Commander the original.
